What is executive coaching, and who can benefit from it?
Any professional who believes a change in behavior will be productive in their success- whether it’s their own behavior or the behavior of others on their team – can benefit from working with an executive coach. A coach will work with you to explore the issues you’re grappling with, and you’ll walk away with a commitment to action tailored to your readiness and challenge level.
I liken the coaching relationship to a journey across a bridge – you’ll cross the bridge from current state to future desired state, and I’ll be here to tenaciously support your transformation to the future.
I believe growth comes from discomfort – we’re uncomfortable when our thoughts, heart, and actions are not congruent, and that’s where the opportunity lies. As a client, when you’re uncomfortable, getting into the muck, or trying to cross that rickety old bridge – I’ll be there to support and guide you through the rough spots!
What would I get coaching on?
The topics coaches cover can vary, but some common topics involve leadership, team dynamics, skill development, and innovation.
A client, with coach’s help, unleashes tomorrow’s possibilities through changes from today.
What has to be true tomorrow that isn’t true today? What would it take to be there instead of here? Contact me – let’s discuss what your tomorrow brings!
What can I expect if we work together?
A typical session starts with a check-in on where the client is currently – what has happened since the last session. What insights or challenges took place related to your goals?
Then, I ask what you want to focus on in our session. Right now, what is one thing we can explore to move you closer to your goals? I’ll ask you to consider what you know about yourself and your world, reflect what I observe, and we’ll explore together!
Frequently, by the end of the session, you identify 1-3 things to try or think about, and we recap those and identify any accountability checkpoints in between sessions to keep you on track.
What are the benefits of coaching?
Your experience will carry with you, well beyond your time with your coach. Clients gain a stronger understanding of themselves and their priorities, which strengthens their personal development well beyond the coaching engagement. Client feedback shows immediate benefits to communication, confidence, and leadership, but clients also see long-term improvements in how they look, how they are perceived, and how they perform!
Why is certification important?
Anyone can tell you they are a coach. However, I believe in a higher standard of coaching excellence. I hold the ACC certification through International Coach Federation (ICF), which signifies an outstanding standard of excellence and ethics in addition to meeting experience requirements. My education through St. Thomas’ Graduate Certificate plus my experience provides ICF-quality coaching and business acumen all in one.
